How do I get a view of my computer specifications?
Here’s a list of steps on how to get your computer specifications:
- Turn on the computer. Find the “My Computer” icon on the desktop or from the “Start” menu.
- Right-click on the “My Computer” icon and choose “Properties”. A window named “System Properties” that provides computer specifications will come up. Select the “General” tab.
- In the window, the “System” section tells you the operating system that is installed on your computer.
- On the other hand, the “Computer” section tells you the processor and the memory (RAM) installed on your computer. The processor’s name is listed, followed by the speed of which is measured in GHz, and, the memory (RAM) of which is measured in MB or GB.
- To determine the amount of hard drive space, double-click on the “My Computer” icon and then right-click on the hard drive icon.
- Choose “Properties” from the menu. In the window which pops up, look for “Capacity.” You will see a graph that shows how much space is used and how much remains free.
